REDISCOVER THE MASS! SESSION1:
The Holy Mass is at the Centre of Our Catholic Faith yet do we sometimes, as Catholics, find it too boring, Monotonous? Do we sometimes not find fulfilment at Mass? Do we Sometimes feel distracted or Disengaged from God at Mass? Do we sometimes fail to feel spiritually satisfied at Mass? Do we feel the Mass is irrelevant? Come let us together rediscover the great treasure of the Holy Mass as a Community. Session 1: Date: Monday August 12, 2019immediately after Morning Mass. Guest Speaker: Rev. Fr. Solomon Onyiwara. Come and let us together bring the Eucharistic experience to Life.

Chapel of Adoration: We wish to remind parishioners to kindly obey the set rules in front of the Chapel and avoid distracting others there. It is a holy place, let us respect its sanctity.

Harvest of Divine Restoration: We thank God for the successful unveiling of the Harvest Theme last Sunday. Our slogan is Harvest of Divine Restoration… Restore us o Lord. Public Holidays: Monday and Tuesday August 12 and13 have been declared public holidays.Masses shall be at 6.30am and 6.30pm only. No midday mass.

Solemnity of the Assumption: Thursday August 15th, 2019 is the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, body and soul into heaven. It is a holy day of obligation. We are all obliged to attend mass unfailingly that day.

Birthday Of The Blessed Virgin Mary: The Parish will be celebrating the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Sunday 8th September, 2019 to this effect the members of the planning committee will be available at all masses on Sunday 11th August, 2019 to solicit your financial assistance towards the successful hosting of the event.

Deanery Pastoral Visit: The Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Martins is scheduled for a pastoral visit to Festac Deanery from Monday August 26th to Sunday September 1st 2019. His Grace shall be visiting our parish Holy Family on Friday August 30th 2019. All societies and organizations should prepare to give the Archbishop a befitting welcome. All those who wish to send in a goodwill message to the Archbishop in the special brochure can do so with the sum of N10, 000 on our Parish page.

EHJ CLINIC: We wish to inform our dear parishioners that our beloved Sr. Eucharia Eghaghe, EHJ shall be proceeding on a 4-month sabbatical leave. Let us remember her in our prayers. The Clinic shall be administered by Sr. Elizabeth Ayinde, EHJ.

INDECENT DRESSING: We wish to remind all our parishioners of the importance of decent dressing to the Church. The church is not a fashion Parade or a place for indecent exposure. Let us kindly ensure that we and our children dress properly to the Home of God.

CHRISTIAN WAKE:
There will be a Christian Wake for Late Mr. Robert Alexander Okechukwu on the 13th August, 2019. Place of Wake: 4th Avenue, Block 4, Flat 15, Festac Town.

There will also be a Christian Wake for Late Mrs. Sherry Priscilla Ikebeli on the 13th August, 2019. Place of Wake: 2nd Avenue, 206 Road Park, Festac Town.

PARISH LITURGY: let us kindly take note of the following blessings during the week.

  1. Mondays: Blessings for workers for the new week (all Masses)
  2. Tuesdays: Blessing of Sacramentals (6:30pm only)
  3. Thursdays: Blessings for Expectant Mothers and those seeking the fruit of the womb. (6:30pm only)
  4. Fridays: Blessing of workers and general intentions.
  5. Saturdays: Blessing for children (6:30am)

Use of Church Facilities: We wish to appeal to all parishioners to kindly handle church equipment and property with care and always return them properly after use. Kindly note that the church hall should not be littered. No eating or drinking of any kind.

SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY MASS FOR WEDNESDAY, 14th August 2019 is schedule to be celebrated at St. Andrew Community, area enclosed by part of 22 Road from ‘G’ close to 51 Road and part of 5th Avenue. PARISH OFFICE: The Parish Office will now be open on Sundays from 8am to 1pm. Parishioners can take advantage of this opportunity on Sundays to book masses.

RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through his Body and Blood. Amen.

DEAR PARISHIONERS, kindly be informed that going forward, Adults would not be allowed into the tent during the 8am Children’s mass at the Event Centre, as the tent is reserved for the children only. Parents please note also that Children would not be allowed to attend mass at the 8am Parish Centre as they expected to attend mass at the Event Centre. Thank you for usual co-operation.

PARISH UNIFORM: This is to remind Parishioners that our Parish uniform is still available for Sale, on Sundays at the 40th Anniversary Desk opposite the Bookshop (parish Centre); Souvenir Stand (Event Centre); and in the Bookshop on week days. The Uniform, which is of the finest cotton quality, is going for only N6, 000 per piece of SIX YARDS.

PARISH LIBRARY: The Anthony Cardinal Okogie Library is open for usage to all parishioners and Non-Parishioners who intent to study for various examinations or read for information purpose. Also, we offer services like (i).Photocopying. (ii). Perfect Coloured Photocopies and Printouts now available (iii). Typing (iv). Laminating (v). Binding (vi). Scanning etc at affordable rates. EUCHARISTIC HEART OF JESUS MODEL SCHOOL FESTAC TOWN: Vacancies exist in the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model school Festac for the following positions: (i). Class Teacher for Upper Primary and Computer Teacher (ii). Sanitary Officers (Cleaners).
