  1. TITHE SUNDAY: Today, the first Sunday of the month is Tithe Sunday, there shall be a special blessing before the Second Collection. You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac.
  1. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (SCC): SCC meetings have resumed and will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 8th February 2022 at 6pm. Scriptural reading: Matthew 5:38-48. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time. Kindly check the Parish notice board for the various centers. There shall be mass this Wednesday at St. Mary SCC. Venue: 3rd Avenue, P Close, House 18, Festac Town. All those living around should be in attendance. Please refer to the Parish notice board or website for the various centers.
  1. 2023 VALENTINE’S DAY WITH THE ARCHBISHOP: This is to inform all parishioners that the annual Valentine’s Day with the Archbishop comes up on Saturday, 11th February, 2023 Theme: True Love: A Catalyst for Good Governance (1 Cor: 13: 1-13) Topic: Your Christianity must be Acceptable to God and Impactful on your Community. Time: 10:00am prompt starting with the Holy Mass Venue: St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka, Yaba Fee: N 1,000 per participant.

This is to notify all parishioners that the entrance form for either of the 10 Archdiocesan Secondary Schools {St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi- Boys Only; Holy Child College, Ikoyi- Girls Only; St. Finbarr’s College, Akoka- Boys Only; Our Lady of Apostles Yaba- Girls Only; Mary Comprehensive Secondary School, Maryland; Marywood Girls College, Ebutte-Metta- Girls Only; Sacred Heart College, Apapa; St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic College, Okokomaiko; Mater Ecclesiae College, Epe; St. Kizito’s College, Iju-Ishaga} is out and available for sale at the Parish Office. The price is ₦5,000. For enquiries about the ten schools or any other directives, please visit the Parish notice board or the Parish Office. Please we are all enjoined to pick a form for our children and wards. Examination Date: 11th February 2023.
  1. SEMINARIAN: Our seminarian, Mr Augustine Anyanwu Shall be leaving our parish this week having completed his 6 months Pastoral work here at Holy Family. We wish him God’s blessings as he continues his journey to the priesthood.
  1. WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Saturday, February 11th 2023 is International World Day for the Sick. Below is the 2-Days Parish Program of Events for World Day for the Sick as organized by the Catholic Nurses Guild
    Friday, 10th Feb. 2023:         Health Talk during the 6:30pm (after the Post Communion prayer) on the topic: Diphtheria/Cholera. Saturday, 12th Feb., 2023:    Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar check (after 6:30am mass).
  1. PARISH VALENTINE’S DAY: A special season is upon us!! It’s almost that time of the year where we are expected to show love and understand the true meaning of love. With you in mind, the Youth apostolate of this great Parish (New Jerusalem Youth Wing, CYAA CYON, Singles & Married, YCW to name a few) have put together a spectacular two days program which begins on the 13th of February and climaxes on the 14th of February with a dinner night. We are all enjoined to start purchasing our tickets for this event at a rate of N1,500 (Singles) and N 3,000 (Couples). In the same vein, we humbly solicit your support to make this event a huge success. For sponsorship and advert placement, please meet any of the committee members stationed outside immediately after the mass.

  1. PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL (NEW NAIRA NOTES): Let us kindly note that the old 1,000, 500 and 200 naira notes will no longer be accepted for offertory or other payments from Tuesday, 7th February 2023. Let us kindly adhere to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s deadline
  1. CHURCH KNEELERS: We wish to humbly appeal to you our dear parishioners to please kindly avoid stepping on the kneelers in the church.
  1. PARISH UNIFORM: Our high-quality uniform is now available at the parish bookshop. Price: 8,000 naira only. Limited quantity available.
  1. NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF KNOTS: Our Parish novena to Our Lady Undoer of Knots comes up every month from the 1st to 9th of the month. Let us participate actively with the prayers on the various parish platforms.
  1. INDUCTION: Our parish Catholic Women Organization will be having her induction of new members into the organization next week Sunday, 12th February, 2023. The event will begin with the holy mass by 10am while the reception follows immediately at the Parish Event Center. All inductees are expected to participate actively in all the programs. Please note that there will be no Bulletin Publication/Sale.
  1. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Next week Sunday, 12th February 2023, is the Monthly General Meetings of the Catholic Men Organization (after the 10.00am Mass) and Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (after the 8:00am Mass). Let us all prepare to attend our respective organization meetings.
  1. ASH WEDNESDAY: Wednesday, 22nd February 2023 is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a period of forty days in preparation for the celebration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus. Let us all prepare prayerfully for this spiritual journey.  
  1. HARVEST PLEDGE REDEMPTION: We wish to encourage all parishioners to kindly redeem their pledges at the Harvest Stand (On Sunday) and the parish office (during the week) in cash, cheque or POS and get a receipt.   1. PRE-MARRIAGE COURSE: This is to inform all parishioners that Pre-Marriage Classes has been rescheduled to hold from 10:00am to 12noon (Venue: Omisesan Hall), and no longer 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Those who intend to get married are to see any of the priests at the Parish Office.
  1. HOLY CHILD CHOIR: Are you a child between the ages of 7- 16 years and a lover of music? Do you want to develop the art of singing? Then join the Children Choir on Fridays (Omisesan Hall)5:30pm and Saturday (Upper Hall)– 12:00pm. Parents are also encouraged to support and permit their children/ward(s) to join the Holy Child Choir.

PARISH ID CARDS: This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since last year and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.

HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC PARISH LIBRARY: We are pleased to inform you that the Anthony Cardinal Okogie Reference (Parish) Library located beside the Anthony Cardinal Okojie Lower Hall is here to serve you better. At very affordable prices, we offer the following services: Photocopying, Lamination, Binding, Spiral Binding, Typing, Printing, Colored Photocopyetc. We also offer a vast range of books ranging from Literature to Accounting to Economics and a lot more.   1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with the Book of 1 Samuel. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
