Parish Announcements – 10th September, 2023

  1. APPRECIATION: On behalf of the Parish Pastoral Team, the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus (EHJ) Sisters and the Planning Committee, we wish to express our profound gratitude to you our dear parishioners for your active participation and contributions towards the success of the thanksgiving Mass for the Final Profession of our Sister, Rev. Sr. Regina Maureen Ifeyinwa Okoli EHJ. May the good Lord bless you all. Amen.
  1. MARY’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS: Today, 10th September 2023 our parish will be celebrating the Birthday of our Blessed Mother Mary. It will begin with the Holy Mass by 10:00am, while the social celebrations follow immediately after the Mass at the Church Compound. Please note that there will be no Benediction by 5:00pm but only Evening Mass at the usual time (6:00pm).
  1. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Today, 10th September 2023, is the Monthly General Meetings of the Catholic Women Organization and Catholic Men Organization (after the 10.00am Mass). Let us all ensure we attend our respective organizations as crucial matters will be discussed.
  1. FEAST DAY: Thursday, 14th September 2023 is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, we are all encouraged to attend Mass and observe the feast devoutly.
  1. BLESSING OF HOLY WATER AND SACRAMENTALS: Parishioners are encouraged to come with their Water, Salt, Olive Oil and other sacramentals for blessing every Tuesday for the Rite of Blessings during the evening Mass.
  1. SCC meetings has resumed and will take place at various Community Centers on Wednesday, 13th September 2023 at 6:00pm. Scriptural reading: Matthew 18:21-35. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time. There shall be Mass this Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help SCC. Venue:3rd Avenue, G Close, House 4, Festac Town. All those living around should be in attendance. Please refer to the Parish notice board or Parish website for the various centers.
  1. Next Sunday, 17th September2023 shall be our monthly Special Collection for the Poor. This collection is to help offshoot the activity of St. Vincent De Paul. Let us all prepare to donate generously. “Remember, whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me”
  1. The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria of Holy Family Catholic Church presents to you her 2nd edition of the Solomon’s Court Talent Hunt. This season promises to be top notch as loads of amazing talents like Rapping, Singing, Dancing, Acting, Artistry Display/Crafts and lots more.
    Registration Fee: #5,000.
    Date: Next Sunday, 17th September 2023.
    Venue: Pope JohnPaull II Hall.
    Gate Fee: #1,000.
    Cash Prizes: 1st Prize- #250,000; 2nd Prize- #100,000; 3rd Prize: #50,000.

  1. PARISH YOUTH WEEK: This is to inform parishioners of our annual Parish Youth Week scheduled to hold from next week Sunday, 17th to 24th September 2023. Activities includes Symposium, Revival, Jersey Day and lots more. We enjoin all youth in the Parish to participate actively. It is for all Parishioners … All who are young in heart.

  1. HEALTH CHECK: The Young Christian Workers (YCW) Movement in collaboration with Nuerve International is organizing a 1-Day Health Talk on wellness & nutrition.
    Date: 17th September 2023.
    Time: after 8:00am mass.
    There will also be Medical Tests for as low as #1,000 and free BP tests.
  1. ALTAR SERVERS:  There will be a compulsory meeting of the Chaplain with the Parents of the Altar Servers next week Sunday, 17th September 2023. Venue: Anthony Cardinal Okogie Hall. Time: 12 noon. Also, there is a call for new members into the Association. Male (from age of communicant to 16 years) & Female (from age of communicant to 12 years) while old altar servers are also free to return. We encourage all parents/guardians to permit children who are interested to join.
  1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be reading from the Letters of St. Paul to the Timothy, Titus & Philemon. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
