- CONGRATULATIONS: On behalf of the Parish Pastoral Team, we want to congratulate the members of our Confraternity of Christian Mothers on the occasion of her Solemn Reception which holds today, 15th September, 2024 at the 10:00am mass. The reception follows immediately after the mass at the Pope John Paul II (Upper) Hall.
- CHOIR CONCERT: Our Parish Choir will be hosting a Choir Concert today, 15th September 2024 with the theme; “An Evening of Hymns”. It is a celebration of faith and music; a soul-stirring evening of classic hymns, fellowship and praise. Time: 3:00pm. Venue: Main Church. We are all cordially invited!! Come along with your family and friends to sing to the Lord with your full voice. Remember, he who sings well, prays twice!!
- YEAR OF PRAYER: Tomorrow, 16th September 2024, we shall have the year of prayer as a deanery scheduled to begin at 9:00am and end with Midday Mass. The programme will feature prayers, Eucharistic Adoration, Talk, Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Mass. Remember, it’s a public holiday, so please let us all be in attendance as we continue to renew our commitment to prayer during this Year of Prayer.
- PARISH YOUTH WEEK: This is to inform parishioners of our annual Parish Youth Week which begins today, Sunday, 15th September and will run till next week Sunday, 22nd September 2024. Activities includes Symposium, Movie Night, Variety Night, Sports, Praise Night and lots more. We enjoin all youths in the Parish to participate actively.
- SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR THE POOR: Today, 15th September 2024 shall be our monthly Special Collection for the Poor. This collection is to help support the activities of St. Vincent De Paul. Let us all prepare to donate generously. “Remember, whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me”
- FEAST DAY: Saturday, 21st September 2024 is the Feast of St. Matthew (Apostle & Evangelist).We are all encouraged to attend Mass and observe the feast devoutly.
- BLESSSING OF WATER & SACRAMENTALS: There will be blessing of water and other sacramental every Tuesday during the evening mass. We are all encouraged to participate actively.
- PUBLIC HOLIDAY: Due to the national public holiday and Deanery Day of Prayer scheduled to hold tomorrow, 16th September 2024, masses shall be by 6:30am, 12noon & 6:30pm. Please note that the Parish Office will be closed.
- SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: SCC meetings will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 18th September, 2024 at 6pm. Scriptural reading: Mark 9:30-37. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time. There shall be mass this Wednesday at St. Dennis SCC. Venue: 207 Road, D Close, House 17, Festac Town. All those living around should be in attendance. Please refer to the Parish notice board or parish website for the various centers.
- CHRISTIAN WAKE: There will be Christian Wake for Late Ezinne Joy Ugochi Odidika on Thursday, 19th September, 2024 by 6:00pm (Venue: 5th Avenue, F Close, House 14, Festac). She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Association of Sacred Heart of Jesus & Immaculate Heart of Mary. We are all encouraged to pray for the repose of her soul.
- REQUIEM MASS: There will be Requiem Mass for Late Mrs Stella Nwabueze on Friday, 20th September, 2024 by 12:30pm. She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and St. Jude Society. We are all encouraged to pray for the repose of her soul.
- PATRICIAN GATHERINGS: Our Lady Queen of Patriarchs praesidium is inviting Catholics, even outside this parish, to become members of Patrician gatherings to be started in our parish. Date: Sunday, 29th September 29, 2024 (Every Last Sundays monthly). Time: After the 10:00am masses. Venue: Pope Johnpaul II (Upper) Hall. We look forward to gathering together as God’s family, learning more about our faith, among ourselves, and building our religious knowledge together.
- OCTOBER DEVOTION 2024: Our 2024 October devotion in honor of our Blessed Virgin Mary begins on Tuesday, 1st of October 2024 with Rosary procession immediately after the 6.30am Mass. Thereafter, please note that the devotion begins by 5:30pm on weekdays and 4:30pm on Sundays with the Rosary and other prayers while there will be brief inspiring talks on various aspects of the Blessed Virgin Mary after the Post-Communion Prayer, from Mondays to Friday at the 6:30pm Masses. Saturdays at 6:30am Mass and on Sundays during Benediction. The Icon Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Redemptorist Fathers will be from Sunday, 20th October to Sunday, 27th October 2024. - SECURITY ALERT: Dear beloved parishioners, we will like to draw our parishioners’ attention to be more security conscious and hold on to their valuables especially in the church during mass. This is to prevent cases of theft in the church. In the same vein, we wish to bring to your notice some fraudulent act that has been on the increase in recent times. There have been cases of people hacking into the various WhatsApp platforms of the parish, requesting for either money or a particular code to be sent. We appeal to us all to be careful of these hackers who may try to trick you into divulging sensitive information. Please be cautious of any messages or emails asking you to send codes, money or personal information, claiming to be from the Priests or Parish Office. These are likely fraudulent attempts.
Remember:
– Our parish will never ask you to send money into an account that does not belong to the parish nor send codes or personal information via email or message.
– Be wary of suspicious requests, even if they appear to come from a familiar name or email address.
– Always verify the authenticity of such requests by contacting the parish office or the Priests of the parish directly.

- PARISH ID CARDS: This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since last year 2023 and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.
- CLEANING OF THE CHURCH: We hereby urge all parishioners to imbibe proper maintenance culture as relating to keeping the church and its premises clean always. As we encourage all parishioners to use the waste bins rather than litter the church with dirt, we also appeal to all parents to please keep their children away from the flowers as they keep damaging them. We appreciate those parishioners who have been helping in sweeping and keeping the church compound clean. As we keep the House of God clean, may God keep us clean from sin and free us from all evil. - (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with the Book of Hebrews. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.
