Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord:

TO ALL PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS WORKING IN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LAGOS, AND THE LAY FAITHFUL;

  1. POPE’S INTENTION FOR OCTOBER 2024: For a Shared Mission: We pray that the Church continues to sustain in all ways a Synodal lifestyle, as a sign of responsibility, promoting the participation, the communion and the mission shared among priests, religious and lay people.
  1. ARCHBISHOP’S INTENTION FOR OCTOBER 2024: For our Country Nigeria: We pray for our country Nigeria that God may inspire our rulers to find ways of liberating the citizens from the present economic hardship and grant rulers and citizens the strength to work towards building the nation of our dreams.
  1. ANTHONY CARDINAL OKOGIE FOUNDATION ANNUAL LECTURE: The Anthony Cardinal Okogie Foundation Annual Lecture comes up: Date: Thursday, 10th October, 2024. Time: 10: 00am. Topic: Harnessing Nigeria’s Youthful Population as a Tool for Nation Building. Guest Speaker: Prof. Enase Okonedo FCA, Vice Chancellor, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria. Venue: THE HALL, beside Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16, Musa Yar’Adua Str. Victoria Island, Lagos.
  1. CATECHISTS’ DAY CELEBRATION: This will take place at Catholic Church of the Ascension, Airport Road on Sunday, 13th October 2024 by 11:00am.
  1. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY: The World Mission Sunday comes up on Sunday 20th October, 2024. Theme: “Go and invite everyone to the Banquet (cf. Mt. 22: 1-14)”. It a day we pray for the success of missionary activities of the Church all over the world.
  1. PRIESTLY ORDINATION: To the glory of God, our deacons, Revs. Akotonayon Patrick, Aliegwu Thomas, Canice Emmanuel, Ebede Michael, Ekemezie Clinton, Momah Stephen, Okhiria Timothy, Onaji Gregory, Ugwumba Princewill and Umenwanne Ethelbert will be ordained Priests on Thursday, 31st October, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Onireke at 10:00am. Let us continue to pray that the Lord would send faithful servants to work in His vineyard
