Parish Announcements – 12th March, 2023

  1. APPRECIATION: We wish to thank all our beloved parishioners for their immense generousity at last week’s fundraising for our parish Church Re-dedication. May God bless us and replenish us abundantly.
  1. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Today, 12th March 2023, is the Monthly General Meetings of the Catholic Women Organization and Catholic Men Organization (after the 10.00am Mass) and Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (after the 8:00am Mass). Let us all ensure we attend our respective organizations as crucial matters will be discussed.
  1. FEAST DAY: Friday, 17th March, 2023 is the feast of St. Patrick, the secondary patron of Nigeria. Let us all attend mass and observe the feast of this great saint devoutly.
  1. ANNIVERSARY OF ABULE-ADO EXPLOSION: Wednesday, 15th March is the 3rd anniversary of the Abule-Ado explosion. There shall be a memorial mass by 12:30pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Abule-Ado. All parishioners are encouraged to be in attendance.
  1. ARCHDIOCESAN LENTEN PILGRIMAGE: The annual Archdiocesan Lenten Pilgrimage comes up on Saturday, 18th March, 2023 at Ave Maria Grotto, Lekki. There shall be Rosary, Confessions and Counselling, Stations of the Cross, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Inspired Talks and Holy Mass. All parishioners are enjoined to participate in this important spiritual exercise. Every society/organization is expected to send five (5) representatives each. Other parishioners who wishes to join the free parish buses should register their names in front of the church doors on or before Wednesday, 15th March, 2023.
  1. LENTEN RETREAT: Our annual parish Lenten Retreat begins next week, Sunday 19th March 2023 to 24th March 2023. Let us all prepare to participate actively. There shall be daily masses, confession, counselling, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament etc.
    Time: 5:30pm daily.
  2. CARITAS LAGOS: Caritas Lagos Collection comes up at all masses on Sunday, 19th March, 2023. This is a special collection for charities outside the Archdiocese. All parishioners are enjoined to donate generously.
  1. 10TH PAPAL ANNIVERSARY: Next Sunday, 19th March 2023, is the 10th anniversary of the Solemn Inauguration of the Pontificate of Pope Francis. Let us all remember to pray for our Pope, the Vicar of Christ here on earth.
  1. STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Stations of the Cross holds every Wednesday and Friday at 12noon and 5:30pm at the new Church Building. We are all encouraged to journey with the Lord through His passion and death. Booklets are available at ₦200 only.
  1. PASSION DRAMA AUDITION: The Lenten season is here again with it\’s many blessings and a time to offer your talent in service to God. To this end, Young Christian Movement (YCW) is calling on interested persons who wish to be part of this year’s dramatization of the Passion of Christ to meet with the committee members beside the Bulletin Stand.   1. PARISH FINANCE COUNCIL: We encourage you our dear parishioners to make your offertory via bank transfer to the parish account: Fidelity Bank, 5080032193 or the P.O.S. before or after the mass.
  1. CHILDREN MASS: Parents and Guardians are encouraged to take their children to attend the 8am Children Mass at the Upper Hall. Church wardens are to direct them accordingly.
  1. 2022 HARVEST: The Harvest Committee for last year’s Harvest of Divine Peace is winding down their accounts. All those who made pledges should kindly redeem them by cash, cheque or POS at the Harvest Stand (on Sundays) and Parish Office (during the week).   1. Registration into the following Sacraments: Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and R.C.I.A (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) class will resume on Saturday, 4th March 2023 and run till Friday, 7th April 2023. Also, registration for Adult Confirmation Classes (40 Years and above and those married, but not confirmed) is ongoing. Register at the Catechist Resource Center or call: 08161629992.
  1. CHURCH KNEELERS: We wish to humbly appeal to you our dear parishioners to please kindly avoid stepping on the kneelers in the church and to gently lower them when during usage.
  1. PARISH UNIFORM: Our high-quality parish uniform is now available at the entrance of the new Church Building (on Sundays) and Parish Bookshop (during the week). Price: 8,000 Naira only. Limited quantity available.
  1. ADMISSION: Nazareth School has begun the sales of entrance forms into Prep 1 for the 2023/2024 Academic Session. Forms can be obtained at Nazareth School B (Upper) from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Please note that the form(s) is ONLY for children born in the year 2019.
  1. PARISH ID CARDS: This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since last year and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.
  1. HOLY CHILD CHOIR: Are you a child between the ages of 7- 16 years and a lover of music? Do you want to develop the art of singing? Then join the Children Choir on Fridays (Omisesan Hall)5:30pm and Saturday (Upper Hall) – 12:00pm. Parents are also encouraged to support and permit their children/ward(s) to join the Holy Child Choir.

ALTAR LADIES: The Association of Altar Ladies is calling on interested parishioners within the ages of 15 years and above who wish to serve God with their time and decorative talents by beautifying the Sanctuary/Altar of God to join us every Saturday in the church by 4pm or contact Rev.   1. HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC PARISH LIBRARY: We are pleased to inform you that the Anthony Cardinal Okogie Reference (Parish) Library located beside the Anthony Cardinal Okojie Lower Hall is here to serve you better. At very affordable prices, we offer the following services:
    Photocopying, Lamination, Binding, Spiral Binding, Typing, Printing, Colored Photocopy etc. We also offer a vast range of books ranging from Literature to Accounting to Economics and a lot more.
    Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays.

  1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with the Book of Prophets Joel & Amos. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
