CYON COLUMN

CYON is a Parish based, umbrella Organization which brings together all Catholic young people,  male and female,  within the age bracket of 15-35 years of age.

The Organization is currently built on 6 pillars as documented in the youth policy given to us by the Archbishop, which are Organogram and structure, Youth Spirituality, social communication, profession and Vocation,  Empowerment and Youth Socialization.
The patron Saint of CYON is St. Charles Lwanga & companions.

Aims and Objectives

The Primary aim of CYON is the spiritual development of the Youth through personal prayers, spiritual reading of the Bible and participation in the sacramental and missionary life of the church. It promotes Catholic identity through inculcation of Catholic doctrines and practices as contained in traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church. It also seeks to promote the virtue of good Christian life in general thereby encouraging and praying for vocations to the priesthood and religious life among its members.

CATECHETICAL COLUMN

KNOW YOUR FAITH
THEME: “I BELIEVE IN LIFE EVERLASTING”

  • In what does hell consist?
Hell consists in the eternal damnation of those who die in mortal Sin through their own free Choice. The Principal suffering of hell is eternal separation from God in whom alone we can have the life and happiness for which we were created and for which long. Christ proclaimed this reality with the words, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire”. 1Jn 3:14-15; Mt. 25:31-46; Mt. 5:22, 29; 10:28; 13:42, 50; Mk. 9:43-48; Mt. 13:41-42; Mt. 25:41.
