Parish Announcements – 1st October, 2023

1. TITHE SUNDAY: Today, the first Sunday of the month is Tithe Sunday, there shall be a special blessing before the Second Collection. You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac. Let us now be on our feet as we invite the officiating priest to pray for us.

2. ARCHDIOCESAN ROSARY PROCESSION: The entire Parishioners are invited to join other faithful of the Archdiocese for our Archdiocesan Rosary Procession for peace in Nigeria which starts from National Stadium, Surulere and ends at the Marian Shrine, St. Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland.
   Date: Sunday, 1^st October, 2023.
   Time: 7:30am. We are all encouraged to participate in this spiritual exercise.

3. 2023 OCTOBER DEVOTION: Our 2023 Parish October Devotion in honour of our Blessed Virgin Mary begins today, 1^st October 2023 with a Rosary Procession after the 10:00am Mass. Thereafter, please note that the devotion begins by 5:00pm on weekdays with the Rosary and other prayers while there will be brief inspiring talks on various aspects of the Blessed Virgin Mary after the Post-Communion Prayer, from Mondays to Friday at the 6:30pm Masses. Saturdays at 6:30am Mass and on Sundays during Benediction. The Icon Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Redemptorist Fathers will be from Friday, 15^th October to Friday, 22^ndOctober 2023. Let us all endeavour to participate actively and remember to pray our Holy Rosary daily. Below are the daily topics for our personal meditation.

6. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CATHOLIC LAWYERS (NACL): National Association of Catholic Lawyers Lagos Archdiocese in conjunction with National Association of Catholic Lawyers, Festac will be organizing a Town Hall Meeting today, 1^st October 2023. Time: 1:00pm. Venue: Anthony Cardinal Okogie Hall. All Lawyers in the Parish and Catholic Lawyers within Festac area are cordially invited.

7. FIRST MONDAY ANOINTING: Tomorrow, 2^nd October 2023, is the first Monday of the month. There shall be special blessing and anointing at all masses. Let us all endeavour to participate in this spiritual exercise.

8. PUBLIC HOLIDAY: Due to the national public holidays tomorrow, 2^nd October 2023, masses shall be by 6:30am and 6:30pm ONLY. Please note that the Parish Office will be closed.

9. MISSIONARY CHILDHOOD ASSOCIATION: The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) is calling on all children of the Parish to join in their annual Archdiocesan Eucharistic Adoration tomorrow, 2^nd October 2023.
   Venue: JohnPaull II (Upper) Hall.
   Time: 4:30pm.
   With the Children all over the world……. we are always friends!!

10. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: In continuation with the Small Christian Community Programme for the year, please note that there will be no SCC meetings at the various centers this Wednesday, 4^th October, 2023. There will rather be a talk on the topic: “Rebutting the Erroneous Notions about the Catholic Church through Small Christian Communities”. All parishioners are encouraged to be in attendance at the evening Mass so as to learn more about Small Christian Communities.

11. NOVENA TO OUR LADY UNDOER OF KNOTS: Our Parish novena to Our Lady Undoer of Knots comes up every month from the 1^st to 9^th of the month. Let us participate actively with the prayers on the various parish platforms.

12. FIRST FRIDAY COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND HOME-BOUND: The First Friday visit and communion to the sick and home-bound comes up this Friday, 6^th October, 2023.

13. FIRST FRIDAY PRAISE PROGRAM: The parish cordially invites you to our First Friday praise and worship program which holds this Friday, 6^th October 2023 beginning with the Holy Mass at 6:00pm. This is an avenue for Intense Moments of Praise/worship And Ceaseless Testimonies (IMPACT). This program begins immediately after the evening mass and will hold subsequently on the first Friday of every month. Remember, there is joy in the presence of God. Don’t forget to bring a friend along.

14. 1FIRST SATURDAY: The First Saturday Marian Devotion and Rosary Procession comes up on Saturday, 7^th October, 2023, after the 6:30am Mass.

15. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Next week Sunday, 8^th October 2023, is the Monthly General Meetings of the Catholic Men Organization and Catholic Women Organization (after the 10.00am Mass) and Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (after the 8:00am Mass). Let us all prepare to attend our respective organization meetings.

16. ALTAR SERVERS:  There is a call for new members into the Association. Male (from age of communicant to 16 years) & Female (from age of communicant to 12 years) previous servers from other Parish are also free to join. We encourage all parents/guardians to permit children who are interested to join.

17. BLESSING OF HOLY WATER AND SACRAMENTALS: Parishioners are encouraged to come with their Water, Salt, Olive Oil and other sacramentals for blessing every Tuesday for the Rite of Blessings during the evening mass.

18. In a bid to have more Parishioners participate, the Maiden edition of our Parish Trade Fest will now hold on Sunday, 5^th November 2023 from 7:00am to 5:00pm at the Courtyard and Car Park areas of the Church Halls. Take advantage of this opportunity to showcase your Business, Network and grow your customer base within our Worshipping Community of Love. Individuals/MSML (#10,000) & Corporate Organizations (#40,000). Interested Parishioners should contact the Trade Fest Committee at their Help Desk outside the Church on Sundays and the Parish Office on Weekdays. 19. All those who made pledges at previous Harvest should kindly redeem them by cash, cheque or POS at the Harvest Stand (on Sundays) and Parish Office (during the week). You can as well transfer directly to the Harvest Account: HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH, HARVEST, ZENITH- 1014506326.

20. This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since June this year and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.

21. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be reading from the Letters St. Peter. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

22. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
