Parish Announcements – 27th October

SOCIETY MONITORING COMMITTEE: The Society Monitoring Committee will be inaugurated today at the 10:00am mass. The Society monitoring committee is an extension of the Evaluation Committee of the Parish Laity Council and is saddled with the supervision of the societies and organizations in the Parish. Kindly afford them the necessary cooperation.

FEAST: Tomorrow 28th October is the feast of SS Simon and Jude. Both were beloved apostles of Christ. Let us endeavour to attend mass in honour of these great saints.

ALL SAINTS: Friday November 1st, 2019 is the Solemnity of All Saints. The Church celebrates all holy men and women in history who have lived good and holy lives worthy of emulation and are sharing the Beatific vision of heaven. It is a holy day of obligation and all Catholics are obliged to attend mass that day and duly observed the solemnity. Masses are at the usual times. 6am, 12.30pm and 6.30pm.

ALL SOULS: Saturday November 2nd is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls). We are all enjoined to pray for the souls of the dead. Special envelopes will be distributed for us to write the names of our departed loved ones and drop them in the designated boxes with an offering for masses to be said all throughout the month of November. May the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen. There shall be three masses that day 6.30am, 12noon and 6.00pm. We are all encouraged to attend.

ADULT HARVEST: Our Parish Adult Harvest of Divine Restoration comes up on Sunday November 10, 2019. There shall be mass at 6.30am and 10.00am (Upper Hall) And 7.00am at the Event Centre only. Next Sunday November 3rd is our brochure Launch, let us all participate actively.

CHILDREN RALLY WITH THE ARCHBISHOP: 2019 Rally with the Archbishop holds on Saturday Nov 9, 2019 at St. Gregory’s College, Obalende, Lagos. Time: 10.00am prompt.

OCTOBER DEVOTION: This year’s October devotion will be concluded this Thursday devotion 31st with a rosary procession beginning at 5.30pm. Let us endeavour to attend and continue our Blessed Mother’s intercession for ourselves and our country.

FROM THE PARISH OFFICE: Please, kindly collect your receipt for every money payment made in the Church through the Parish office. This includes: – (i). Mass Booking (ii). Marriage Registration & Certificate. (iii). Issuance of Baptismal Cards (iv). Harvest/Donations/Remodelling (v). Altar Bread & Wine for Thanksgiving (vi). And any other payments. All Payments must go through the Parish Office.

TITHE SUNDAY: Next Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, we shall have the opportunity to pay their tithes. There shall be a special blessing after the second collection. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY MASS FOR WEDNESDAY, 30th October, 2019 is scheduled to be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Community, area enclosed by part of 3rd Avenue, part of 2nd Avenue, part of 22 Road and 32 Road. MASS CENTRE: House 4, ‘G’ close, 3rd Avenue, Festac Town MASS TIME: 6.30PM. COMMUNITY LEADER: MR. MIKE OYESIJI. Other Communities to meet at 6pm. SCRIPTURAL READING: Luke 3:7-14 (TURN AWAY FROM SINFUL WAYS)

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP:Fellowship with us every Friday at the event center. The fellowship begins with the Holy Mass at 6:30pm and is for all youths in the parish.

PARISH LITURGY: let us kindly take note of the following blessings during the week.

  1. Mondays: Blessings for workers for the new week (all Masses)
  2. Tuesdays: Blessing of Sacramentals (6:30pm only)
  3. Thursdays: Blessings for Expectant Mothers and those seeking the fruit of the womb. (6:30pm only)
  4. Fridays: Blessing of workers and general intentions.
  5. Saturdays: Blessing for children (6:30am)

CHAPEL OF ADORATION: We wish to remind parishioners to kindly obey the set rules in front of the Chapel and avoid distracting others there. It is a holy place, let us respect its sanctity.

INDECENT DRESSING: We wish to remind all our parishioners of the importance of decent dressing to the Church. The church is not a fashion Parade or a place for indecent exposure. Let us kindly ensure that we and our children dress properly to the Home of God.

CHRISTIAN WAKE: There will be a Christian Wake for Late Mr. Fredrick Chukwuwete Eseka on the 31st October, 2019. Place of Wake: 41 Road, ‘G’ close, House 25, Festac Town.

PARISH OFFICE: The Parish Office will now be open for skeletal services on Sundays from 8am to 1pm. Parishioners can take advantage of this opportunity on Sundays to book masses.

PARISH LIBRARY: The Anthony Cardinal Okogie Library is open for use to all parishioners and Non-Parishioners who intent to study for various examinations or read for information purpose. Also, we offer services like (i).Photocopying.
(ii). Perfect Coloured Photocopies and Printouts now available
(iii). Typing
(iv). Laminating
(v). Binding
(vi). Scanning etc at affordable rates.
We open from 9AM – 5pm from Monday to Friday.

HOLY FAMILY LAITY EXPRESS BUS SERVICES: The Holy Family Laity Express Services unit wishes to inform our wonderful parishioners that our bus services have resumed operations and are now available for rentals, hiring and school run services.
We are thus seeking to hire experienced Drivers and Bus Minders who MUST be residing within Festac Town and Amuwo Odofin environs; must be practicing Catholics, and registered/active members of any of the approved Lay society/Organization.
Interested persons should forward their CV’s and hand written application to the Laity office on or before Thursday October 31st, 2019.
Parents of Nazareth School pupils who wish to register their children and wards with our services should come to the Laity office from Monday 28/10/2019 to obtain the forms.
All our services are very affordable. One Church! One Laity!!

USE OF CHURCH FACILITIES: We wish to appeal to all parishioners to kindly handle church equipment and property with care and always return them properly after use. Kindly note that the church hall should not be littered. No eating or drinking of any kind.

BULLETIN SPONSORSHIP: We wish to encourage parishioners to support the printing of Parish Bulletin by sponsoring it and or making generous donations towards it. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through his Body and Blood. Amen.

HOLY FAMILY INFO-TECH SERVICES is pleased to announce the use of internet access at the computer centre. 30min, 1hour and 3hours time use. Computer training activities is in progress for interested individuals. Registration is open to all who wish to gain sound knowledge in both introductory/advanced computer course with SKILL ACQUISITION programs on: ICT ESSENTIAL, DESKTOP PUBLISHING, GRAPHIC DESIGN, DATABASE MANAGEMENT, COMPUTER NETWORKING, COMPUTER ENGINEERING, DIGITAL MARKETING, SOLAR AND INVERTER INSTALLATIONS, INTERCOM INSTALLATION, CCTV INSTALLATIONS, VIDEON EDITING AND BASIC FILM PRODUCTION.
