Parish Announcements – 5th November, 2023

  1. TITHE SUNDAY: Today, the first Sunday of the month is Tithe Sunday, there shall be a special blessing before the Second Collection. You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac. Let us now be on our feet as we invite the officiating priest to pray for us.
  1. WELCOME: We warmly welcome our new Associate Priest, Rev. Fr. Hilary Ogunyemi to our Parish. We wish him a fulfilling stay here at Holy Family.
  1. MONTH OF EUCHARISTIC ENCOUNTER: All parishioners are encouraged to spend more time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in the month of November, our month of “Eucharistic Encounter”. We are invited to spend at least one hour as individuals, families, societies and organizations. There shall be exposition in the main Church Building on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after every mass, and other days in the Chapel of Adoration. Come to me all who labour……. and I will give you rest (Mt. 11:28)”.
  1. HARVEST RETREAT: Our 2023 Harvest Retreat begins today Sunday, 5th November to Friday, 10th November 2023. Let us all participate actively. Retreat Moderator: Very Rev. Fr. Francis Adeyemi.
  1. HARVEST THANKSGIVING: Next Sunday, 12th November 2023 is our Harvest thanksgiving. Masses shall be at 6:30am, 10:00am and 6pm only. Let us participate and donate generously.
  1. TRADE FEST 2023: HFCC TRADE FEST! HFCC TRADE FEST!! As part of our harvest programme, TODAY is the HFCC TRADE FEST aimed at enabling parishioners showcase their goods and services within our loving community. Kindly visit the stands today to support a Parishioner. God bless you as you do.
  1. FEAST DAY: Thursday, 9th November 2023 is the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica, a symbol of the unity of the unity of the church with the Mother Church of Rome. Let us endeavour to attend mass on that day.
  1. PEWS DONATION PROJECT: This is to notify all parishioners that compilation of the names of those who supported the Parish with pews is currently ongoing. Please kindly come to the Parish Office (on Weekdays) or Bulletin Stand (on Sundays) with evidence. This can also be done through your society and organizations leaders. Thank you as you do so and may the Lord bless you abundantly and reward handsomely. Amen.
  1. CHRIST THE KING: The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe comes up on Sunday, 26th November 2023. There shall be Eucharistic Procession after the 10:00am mass.
  1. HARVEST PLEDGE REDEMPTION: We wish to encourage all parishioners to kindly redeem their pledges at the Harvest Stand (on Sunday) and the parish office (on Weekdays) in cash, cheque or POS and get a receipt. You can as well pay directly to the Harvest Account; HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH, HARVEST, ZENITH 1014506326.
  1. NOVENA TO OUR LADY UNDOER OF KNOTS: Our Parish novena to Our Lady Undoer of Knots comes up every month from the 1st to 9th of the month. Let us participate actively with the prayers on the various parish platforms.
  1. CONFRATERNITY OF CHRISTIAN FATHERS: The Monthly meeting of the Catholic Confraternity of Christian Fathers comes up today Sunday, 5th November 2023 immediately after the 10am mass. Venue: Pope John Paul II (Upper) Hall. Old and new members are welcome. Her ADC Convention comes up on Saturday, 25th November 2023 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Ikeja.
  1. ALTAR SERVERS:  There is a call for new members into the Association. Male (from age of communicant to 16 years) & Female (from age of communicant to 12 years) previous servers from other Parish are also free to join. We encourage all parents/guardians to permit children who are interested to join.
  1. BLESSING OF HOLY WATER AND SACRAMENTALS: Parishioners are encouraged to come with their Water, Salt, Olive Oil and other sacramentals for blessing every Tuesday for the Rite of Blessings during the evening mass.
  1. This is to inform you our dear parents that the NIN slips of their children who registered for the NIN exercise conducted in the parish sometime in the month of May are ready for pickup. Kindly pick them up at the Parish Office during the week between 9:00am to 4:00pm.
  1. This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since June this year and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.
  1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be reading from the Book of Revelation. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
