CHILDREN COLUMN

INTRODUCTION:
It is 50 days after Easter. The disciples have been waiting patiently and praying in the upper room for the gift that Jesus promised them. Jesus appears to them and gives them His peace.

PRAYER:
Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Amen.

WHAT TO DO (ACTION):
Wait patiently on God, He answers all prayers in His own good time

QUESTIONS:

1. In the gospel, in what form did the Holy Spirit come on the apostles?
2. What did Jesus say to His disciples?
3. After Jesus had breathed the Holy Spirit on His disciples, what message did He send them?
4. Can you say a prayer to the Holy Spirit?
5. How are sins forgiven in the church today?

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION: The JDPC of the parish will be organizing a competition for children between the ages of 6 to 16 years on the theme; “More Money for Primary Education”.

How to Participate:

1. Make a 2 minutes video (First introduce yourself) talking about what you understand by the theme.
2. End by wishing other children a Happy Children’s Day celebration.
3. Submit your video to the WhatsApp number: 08185653316 on or before Thursday, May 31^st 2023.

CATHOLIC MEN ORGANIZATION (CMO) COLUMN

PARISH NEWS:

1. GENERAL MEETING: Our monthly general meeting holds every second Sunday of the month immediately after the 10am mass at the Upper Hall. We are also encouraged to participate in the open thanksgiving at all masses.

2. DEVOTION: Our monthly devotion holds every second Saturday of the month at the Cardinal Okogie Hall. All members are expected to be in attendance.

3. FINANCE: All members should obtain their new Membership Card from the Financial Team and should equally liase with them for the settlement of both old and new debts. Payment can be made to the account: CMO HFCC Festac: Access Bank, 0026624329.

4. ZONING: The zoning arrangement programme in CMO is in progress. Please ensure you fill the form and identify your own zone for effective integration and collaboration.

DEANERY/LACMON NEWS:

1. INSURANCE SCHEME: 2023 Insurance cover has started. It is mandatory for CMO members within the insurable page, obtain form from the executive members or Mr Ben Umelo (0803438161).
2. DEANERY AGM: This comes up on June 4^th 2023. Venue: Catholic Church of Annunciation, 7^th Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos.
3. COUPLES DINNER/AWARD NIGHT: This event comes up on June 10^th 2023 at Golden Tulip Hotel, Amuwo Odofin. Collection of adverts for Brochure is ongoing and tickets are already available for sale. CMO HFCC needs 5 delegates for the award. Please contact the excos for adverts and tickets.
4. CONVENTION: CMON Annual Convention comes up this August at St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi. It is mandatory for all members of CMO and new members in the |Archdiocese. Plan to be there.

N.B: Every member is expected to participate actively in all activities and new members are welcome.
