STORY BEHIND THE UNBORN CHILD CENOTAPH: The Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 2271, affirms the moral evil of procured abortion. In 2017, statistics showed a high rate of abortion in the country and the world at large. About 1.25 million was recorded in Nigeria, and 56 million world-wide every year. The Order of the Knights of Saint Mulumba, Nigeria (KSM), has continued to call for a life of chastity amongst the youths through a “Match for Life” held in the Month of March annually to create awareness. The Family and Human Life Unit of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos and Knights of St. Mulumba, Lagos Metropolitan Council have been holding a pro-life vigil every year for over ten years now at the Archdiocesan Shrine Maryland, Lagos for reparation for the sins of abortion and draw attention to the plights of unborn children whose rights to life are being denied. The “Lest we Forget” Cenotaph of Unborn Children is not for decoration. It is a symbol of devotion that those seeking the fruits of the womb can come and pray so that the innocence of these unborn children can intercede for them. Those who have engaged in abortion through their hands or unconscious efforts can also come and ask God for forgiveness for the life of human persons they have wasted so that God will be merciful and grant them forgiveness. Those suffering from child mortality can as well come to seek the intercession of these innocent unborn children. There is no mistake on the plan of life, for God begets us all in love.

CLEANING OF THE CHURCH: We hereby urge all parishioners to imbibe proper maintenance culture as relating to keeping the church and its premises clean always.
