Parish Announcements – 7th April, 2024

  1. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: Today, the second Sunday of Easter is Divine Mercy Sunday. We are called to Ask for God’s mercy, Be merciful to others and Continue to trust in God. We are also encouraged to venerate the image of the Divine Mercy.
  1. TITHE SUNDAY: Today, the first Sunday of the month is Tithe Sunday, there shall be a special blessing before the Second Collection. You can also make your transfers to our Fidelity Bank 5080032193 in favour of Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac.
  1. YOUTHS COLLECTION: Today, 7th April 2024, our Second Collection today shall be a special Archdiocesan Collection to support the activities of our youths in the Archdiocese. Let us all donate generously.
  1. BULLETIN: Dear parishioners we wish to inform you that due to the increased cost of publishing our weekly parish bulletin, the cost of purchase beginning from today, 7th April 2024, will no longer be #100 but #200. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences.
  1. SOLEMNITY: Tomorrow, 8th April 2024, is the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. We are all obliged to attend mass. There will be mass at the usual times.
  1. FIRST MONDAY ANOINTING: Tomorrow, 8th April 2024, is the first Monday of the month. There shall be special blessing and anointing at all masses. Let us all endeavour to participate in this spiritual exercise.
  1. CHARITY/LOVE BOWL: We wish to remind our parishioners to return their Lenten Charity/ Love bowls to St Vincent de Paul Society. Let us endeavor to be committed. Remember; “whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do unto me”.
  1. SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: Small Christian Community meetings will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 at 6pm. Scriptural Reading: Luke 24:35-48. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time.There shall be mass this Wednesday at St. Joseph SCC. Venue: 321 Road, D Close, House 24, Festac Town.
  1. MOTHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION 2024: Our Parish Mother’s Day thanksgiving and celebration will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday, 14th April, 2024. The lined-up activities for the celebration as follows:

Saturday, 13th April 2024:  
a) Aerobics and body exercises,
b) Health Check by our nurses; and
c) Health Talk on coping with stress in the present Economy.

Sunday, 14th April 2024:      Thanksgiving Mass and reception for all women on Sunday.

Please note that every woman is expected to pay a minimum pay levy of #2,000 each. Dress Code: CWO National Uniform or White & Blue. We appeal for your generous donations in cash and kind in celebrating our mothers as we pray that our Mother Mary will continue to intercede for us as we respond positively. We are all encouraged to celebrate our mothers.

  1. LIFE IN THE SPIRIT SEMINAR: Our Parish Life in the Spirit Seminar begins on today, 7th April, 2024 to Sunday, 2nd June 2024. Time: 1:30pm- 4:00pm. Let us all prepare to participate actively and deepen our personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Registrations can be done at the entrance of the main church.
  1. PARISH OFFICE: This is to inform all parishioners that the Parish Office will resume tomorrow for Mass Bookings, Parish Registration and other payments/Pledge redemption(s).
  1. CONFESSIONS: Confessions will resume on Tuesday, 8th April, 2024.
  1. PRE-MARRIAGE COURSE: This is to inform all parishioners that Pre- Marriage Class which holds every Sunday at 12:00pm will resume next week Sunday, 14th April, 2024.
  1. CHRISTIAN WAKE & REQUIEM MASS: There will be Christian Wake and Requiem Mass for Late Dame Margaret Adaoyibo Okonkwo on Thursday, 11th April, 2024 by 5:00pm (Venue: ParishUpper Hall and Friday, 11th April, 2024 by 10:00am. She was a pioneer member of our parish and a member of various societies which includes Catholic Women Organization, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Legion of Mary and Association of Sacred Heart. We are all encouraged to pray for the repose of her soul.
  1. ORGANIZATIONS MEETING: Next week Sunday, 14th April 2024, is the Monthly General Meetings of the Catholic Men Organization (after the 10.00am Mass) and Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (after the 8:00am Mass). Let us all prepare to attend our respective organization meetings.
  1. AUI COLLECTION: Next Sunday, 14th April 2024, our Second Collection shall be a special Archdiocesan Collection for Augustine University. Let us all prepare to donate generously.
  1. GROUP WEDDING: To celebrate the First Anniversary of our Church Rededication, the Parish will hold a Group Wedding on Saturday, 4th May, 2024. We are all cordially invited!!
  1. BULLETIN SPONSORSHIP & ADVERT PLACEMENT: We encourage all parishioners to kindly subscribe to sponsoring and placing adverts in our weekly bulletin publications. The cost for bulletin adverts are as follows: Full Page: 15,000; Half Page: 6,000; Quarter Page: 3,000 while the cost for bulletin sponsorship is dependent on the parishioners.   1. CHAPEL OF ADORATION: Kindly observe the rules of the chapel of Adoration. Please do not throw money or petitions over the glass rather, put in the box provided for the purpose.
  1. VOTIVE CANDLES: Parishioners are encouraged to light votive candles to pray for their intentions at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Stand. Please note that the candles are taken at a minimum of N200 per candle. 
  1. THANKSGIVING ITEMS: Parishioners are encouraged to consider purchasing essential items needed for the Parish during their individual and family open thanksgiving. Kindly consult the priests or the Parish Office for the list of items.
  1. ALTAR SERVERS:  There is a call for new members into the Association. Male (from age of communicant to 16 years) & Female (from age of communicant to 12 years) previous servers from other Parish are also free to join. We encourage all parents/guardians to permit children who are interested to join.
  1. HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC PARISH LIBRARY: We are pleased to inform you that the Anthony Cardinal Okogie Reference (Parish) Library located beside the Anthony Cardinal Okojie Lower Hall is here to serve you better. At very affordable prices, we offer the following services: Photocopying, Lamination, Binding, Spiral Binding, Typing, Printing, Colored Photocopy etc. We also offer a vast range of books ranging from Literature to Accounting to Economics and a lot more.   1. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, we shall be continuing with the Gospels of Luke & John, then Acts of the Apostles. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

  1. RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
