Parish Announcements – 12th November, 2023 – Holy Family Catholic Church

HARVEST THANKSGIVING: Today, 12^th November 2023 is our Harvest thanksgiving, let us rejoice and be glad. Masses shall be at 6:30am, 10:00am and 6:00pm ONLY. We are all encouraged to participate actively and donate generously.

MONTH OF EUCHARISTIC ENCOUNTER: All parishioners are encouraged to spend more time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in the month of November, our month of “Eucharistic Encounter”. We are invited to spend at least one hour as individuals, families, societies and organizations. There shall be exposition in the main Church Building on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after every mass, and other days in the Chapel of Adoration. “Come to me all who labour……. and I will give you rest (Mt. 11:28)”.

PEWS DONATION PROJECT: This is to notify all parishioners that compilation of the names of those who supported the Parish with pews is currently ongoing. Please kindly come to the Parish Office (on Weekdays) or Bulletin Stand (on Sundays) with evidence. This can also be done through your society and organizations leaders. Thank you as you do so and may the Lord bless you abundantly and reward handsomely. Amen.

REQUIEM MASSES: There will be Requiem Masses for Late Mr Felix Chukwuemeka Okoli on Wednesday, 15^th November, 2023 and Barr. Julie Ifeonu on Friday, 17^th November, 2023 by 10:00am respectively. We are all encouraged to pray for the repose of their souls.

SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY: SCC meetings have resumed and will take place at various community centers on Wednesday, 15^th November 2023 at 6pm. Scriptural reading: Matthew 25:14-30. Please note that there will be no evening Mass or Society meetings during the SCC time. There shall be mass this Wednesday at St. Dennis SCC. Venue: 207 Road, D Close, House 17, Festac Town. All those living around should be in attendance. Please refer to the Parish notice board or parish website for the various centers.

SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR THE POOR: Next Sunday, 19^th November 2023 shall be our monthly Special Collection for the Poor. This collection is to help support the activities of St. Vincent De Paul. Let us all prepare to donate generously. “Remember, whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, that you do unto me”

PURGATORIAN WEEK: Our Parish Purgatorian Week begins tomorrow, Monday 13^th to Friday, 17^th November, 2023. There shall be daily talks during the evening masses. Below are the topics for our daily talks:

CHRIST THE KING: The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe comes up on Sunday, 26^th November 2023. We shall have our Eucharistic Procession after the 10:00am mass in an orderly and prayerful manner. Let us all prepare to adore Christ as King.

HARVEST PLEDGE REDEMPTION: We wish to encourage all parishioners to kindly redeem their pledges at the Harvest Stand (on Sunday) and the parish office (on Weekdays) in cash, cheque or POS and get a receipt. CONFRATERNITY OF CHRISTIAN FATHERS: The ADC Convention of the Catholic Confraternity of Christian Fathers comes up on Saturday, 25^th November 2023 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Ikeja.

ALTAR SERVERS: There is a call for new members into the Association. Male (from age of communicant to 16 years) & Female (from age of communicant to 12 years) previous servers from other Parish are also free to join. We encourage all parents/guardians to permit children who are interested to join.

BLESSING OF HOLY WATER AND SACRAMENTALS: Parishioners are encouraged to come with their Water, Salt, Olive Oil and other sacramentals for blessing every Tuesday for the Rite of Blessings during the evening mass.

This is to inform you our dear parents that the NIN slips of their children who registered for the NIN exercise conducted in the parish sometime in the month of May are ready for pickup. Kindly pick them up at the Parish Office during the week between 9:00am to 4:00pm.

This is to inform parishioners that the Parish ID cards of those who registered since June this year and beyond are ready for collection at the Parish Office, kindly go to the Parish Office to check. Also, we encourage our new members to please register at the Parish Office and those whose card is expired can as well renew at the Parish Office.

HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC PARISH LIBRARY: We are pleased to inform you that the Anthony Cardinal Okogie Reference (Parish) Library located beside the Anthony Cardinal Okojie Lower Hall is here to serve you better. At very affordable prices, we offer the following services: Photocopying, Lamination, Binding, Spiral Binding, Typing, Printing, Colored Photocopy etc. We also offer a vast range of books ranging from Literature to Accounting to Economics and a lot more. (1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE: We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. For this week, as the Liturgical Year gradually comes to an end, we shall be reading from the Gospel of Luke. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS: We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
