Dear Parishioners, the books of Proverbs 31:25 says, ‘’ Strength and Honour are the clothing of a virtuous woman, she shall rejoice in time to come’’.

It is our time of rejoicing! Our mother’s day celebration holds this Sunday April 18th, 2021.
THEME: The role of women in elimination of gender based violence.

We are encouraged to participate actively. There will be light refreshments after the 10:30am mass at the courtyard. Come and be blessed.

FROM THE PARISH BUILDING FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE:
Dear parishioners, we thank you again for your active participation at the relaunch of the fund drive for the parish building project. We thank those that have redeemed their pledge and encourage others who are yet to do so to please continue with their pledge redemption at the booth opposite the bookshop after every mass on Sundays in the parish centre, by the entrance at the event centre and at the parish office during the week days. The monthly first and third/covenant Sunday collections for the project will start effectively in the month of May. Let us all prepare to continue to build with the lord to the very end.

APPRECIATION:  
The members of the planning committee for the just concluded Prison visitation, which consists of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYON), Catholic Young Adult Association (CYAA), Young Catholic Workers (YCW) and Singles and Married Forum (S&M) wish to express their immense gratitude to the entire Parishioners for your support towards the success of their visit to the Badagry prison. We pray God continue to bless you all and replenish your purses. Amen. The visit to the sick and elderly parishioners has been scheduled for Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of April 2021. PUTTING SMILE APPRECIATION:
We appreciate the Parish Priest, Associates Priests and all Parishioners for their support on our project, in providing Educational Materials to disabled of 5th Avenue Central school and Amuwodofin Primary School on the 31st of March, 2021. May God Almighty bless you all Amen.

SKILL EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME:
Our Parish in conjunction with WILIK CONCEPT is organizing a four weeks intensive skill empowerment program with training in skills like: Hairdressing, Barbing, Fashion Designing, Catering, Bead Making, Fascinator., Make-up and Empowerment seminar. Commencement date is from 3rd to 31st f May 2021. Time: 9am- 2pm Daily. Registration fee is N5,000.00. Forms can be obtained at the Parish office or the Parish Library. Parishioners are encouraged to take part in this office or the Parish Library. Parishioners are encouraged to take part in this programme as the fee has been subsidized by the Parish.

REQUIEM MASS:
There will be Requiem Mass for Sir Noble Leonard Enyiribe Ogbonna on Friday, 23rd April, 2021 at 10am.
Parishioners are encouraged to attend and pray for the repose of his soul.

CONSECRATION SEMINAR, 2021:
The Spiritual seminar for the enthronement of your home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary and Personal Consecration organized by the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, Apostleship of Prayer is in progress every Wednesday at Michael Omisssessan Hall by 7:00pm. Those who registered for the seminar should endeavour to attend and new members are also welcome

MAY DEVOTION:
The 2021 May Devotion to Our Blessed Virgin Mary begins on Saturday, May 1, 2021. There will be brief talks on various aspects of the Blessed Virgin Mary after Post-Communion Prayer, from Monday to Friday at 6:30pm Masses. Saturdays at 6:30am Mass and Sundays during Benedictions. Let us participate actively.

CATECHISM ANNOUNCEMENT:

  1. This is to inform all parishioners that full physical classes for catechism resumed on Saturday, April 10, at 3:45pm. All parishioners preparing for various sacraments are encouraged to return to classes immediately. Be sure to come with your attendance cards and face masks.
  2. Admission into catechism classes are still on till Saturday, April 24, 2021. Please visit the Catechesis Resource Center on Saturdays from 4 to 6pm.
  3. All those who recently (within the last 2 years) received the Sacraments of Holy Communion, Confirmation and RCIA and are yet to retrieve their baptismal cards from the parish must visit the Catechesis Resource Center before the end of April, 2021. This is a final notice to pick up your baptismal cards!

PARISH MEDIA TEAM:
Members of the Parish Media Team will be having a meeting next Sunday, 25th April, 2021 immediately after the 9:00am Mass at Msgr. Omisesan Hall. New members are welcome.

SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY (SCC):
SCC meetings will take place at eh various community centres on Wednesday, 21April, 2021 at 6pm.Scriptural reading: John 10:11-18. Please note that there will be no evening Mass and all covid-19 protocols are to be observed.

ST. JOSEPH PRAYER:
This Year has been declared as the Year of St. Joseph. We shall have a prayer to St. Joseph every Wednesday during Mass before final blessing.

(1%) ONE PERCENT BIBLE CHALLENGE:
We wish to encourage all Parishioners to read and study the word of God for at least 15minutes every day; which is about 1% of 24 hours. We are continuing with the Book of Psalm for this week. Take up this challenge faithfully as stated below and be enriched spiritually.

RETURN TO THE SACRAMENTS:
We wish to encourage those who have been estranged from the sacraments for one reason or the other especially the Holy Eucharist, to return to the Sacraments. Kindly meet any of the Priests if you are having any difficulty in this regard. May Christ grant us life through His Body and Blood. Amen.
